Karena Curry, M.Ed., LCMHC, QS

Karena is the Founder/Owner of Black Clinician Network. She owns a mental health practice located in south Charlotte by the name of Kay Counseling, PLLC. She enjoys an occasional social outing, a good thunderstorm, and singing R&B at the top of her lungs.

Crystal Moore-Hallman, MS, LCMHC, QS

Crystal is our Membership & Engagement Co-Chair. Crystal is the owner of a mental health practice by the name of Profound Counseling. She enjoys working with people ages 18 and up dealing with depression, anxiety, relationships, and life transitions.

Shanita Burgess, M.Ed., LCMHC

Shanita is our Events Co-Chair. She is the owner of Actualized Counseling & Community, and a mental health blog @shanita__b. She enjoys hanging out with friends, watching reruns of her favorite shows, and listening to old Gucci Mane songs.

Demetrius Cofield, M.Ed., LCMHC, LCAS

Demetrius holds the positions of Events Co-Chair and Membership & Engagement Co-Chair. Demetrius is a full time Ph.D. student in the Counselor Education and Supervision program at UNC-Charlotte. He is currently involved with research dealing with racism and mental health in the Black community. He also works as a part time therapist providing mental health treatment to adults and adolescents specializing in mood disorders, men’s issues, and anger management. He enjoys spending time with friends, reading, and listening to Future and The Weeknd.
